It was November 26th, a month left to enter into 2021 and many of us are still battling with 2020’s promise. Maybe you have received a promise that is absolutely required for your struggle but unfortunately you have not seen its fulfilment so far. If yes, look what God has in store for you.
Each one of us has an area which has to be transformed, refreshed and yield fruit by divine intervention. It can be uncertainty, confusion, anxiety, shame, guilt, life-settlement, bareness, employment, sickness, fear etc.. etc..Whatever it is we all have that secret desire to receive a promise of hope, a promise of restoration for our struggles and questions in life.
Likewise we all have that one promise which is yet to happen, make way in our life. During that course of waiting we become impatient, weary, and tired. Eventually we lose hope in seeing a breakthrough, slowly life seems to be tough and future seems to be imaginary.... Just like yours even I have a story.....
It was December 31st,2019 just like everyone I was super excited to receive a promise for 2020. During praise and worship, I was silently praying God to give me a promise for the struggle I’m facing from past 7 months. It was 12:00 am January 1st 2020, my wait was over and I have received a promise saying “You will certainly recover” 2Ki 8:10.
My happiness was beyond measure on reading my promise. I went home dancing with joy with a hope of seeing a miracle very soon. Mommy Mommy, I screamed aloud to share what Lord has promised me and with lots of faith I told her ‘I will be healed this month’. Days have passed by waiting for my promise fulfilment. January passed, February passed, March, April, May, June, July, August.... till today I’m still waiting upon the Lord for my healing. After receiving the promise my health condition has not got better but it made me grow weak and tired. Each day I would wake up to see myself healed but my mirror would tell me that I have become worse than yesterday. I started to suffer with depression, anxiety and fear of not getting cured. I’m 25 and just like every other girl I wanted to look young and beautiful but I ended becoming old and ugly. During that tough moment I have noticed an amazing verse in the bible which says...
This verse strengthened me and I gathered courage to believe God beyond my promise and from that very minute God has taught me many things. I’m still sick but strong in his hands. Read further to know what I learned from this journey.
The Lord says that none of his words will return to him empty, but they will achieve the purpose for which he sent them. We often doubt, fear, loose hope because our plan of accomplishment is different from God’s plan of accomplishment.
The Lord says....
One can never measure up to God’s plans in bringing a breakthrough or in fulfilling the promise. At times, the promise we receive and the situations we encounter will be completely opposite. Maybe you have received a promise of ‘deliverance’ but endured ‘downfall’. Maybe you have received a promise of ‘healing’ but suffered ‘affliction’. Maybe you have received a promise of ‘joy’ but faced ‘misery’. Don’t be disheartened by what you see and by what others speak. Life can never be unjust for those who trust upon the Lord.
Take heart.....for God has fulfilled the promise given to Abraham and through him arrived the chosen generation, God has fulfilled the dream of Joseph and he has been the moon honoured by his eleven brothers.
No, our God who created the heaven and the earth will make a way to fulfil the promise given to you. Relax on God’s sovereign will and control for he will make your life from being bitter to better.
Trust him, for he is the only God who is able to change, add meaning to your journey. Maybe it is little late, but a promise is a promise.
